Beaver Creek Coffee Estate, The Ultimate Southernmost Crop-To-Cup Experience!
The drive out to Beaver Creek Coffee Estate sets the tone long before you arrive. Winding through coastal forests with views of the ocean stretching across the horizon, the air shifts as you approach the estate. Tucked away in Port Edward, this is the southernmost coffee roastery and farm on earth, a sanctuary for anyone who values where their food and drink actually come from.

Passing through rows of coffee trees, we step onto the grounds. The layout balances an open-air tented seating space with a rustic indoor restaurant and a curated shop stocked with specialised coffee gear, estate-grown beans, pods, rubs, preserves, and hot sauces. On arrival, we were greeted by an array of thermal flasks pouring unlimited self-serve samples of their full flavor range. It is a rare opportunity to contrast warm notes, subtle roast variations, and cold pours side-by-side.

We joined the signature Crop-to-Cup tour, guided by Arnold, whose expertise and quiet passion immediately anchored the experience. The walk begins with the origins of the plant, tracing its global lineage from wild Arabica roots to modern cultivation. Walking through the orchards, you see every stage of growth happening simultaneously.

Sampling ripe, sweet cherries straight from the branch highlights the contrast between the raw fruit and the final roast. From the trees, the journey continues through the mechanical splitter, the wet processing units, and the sun-drying beds where modern technology refines traditional agricultural techniques.

Inside the roastery, raw green beans transition into aromatic estate roasts. Watching the machinery operate while learning about exact roast profiles, timing, and internal bean temperatures brings a physical weight to every cup.
Following the tour, we settled in for a dedicated tasting flight and a fresh cappuccino made from the exact beans we had just traced through the farm.

Lunch on the open deck takes full advantage of the farm views. The kitchen integrates coffee into the menu with precision. The signature 200g pure beef burger comes seasoned with a custom estate coffee rub, cooked to perfection and layered with bacon, egg, and cheese, the rich espresso notes deepening the savory beef.

The roasted macadamia and chicken salad, tossed over exotic greens, delivers incredible crunch, with the roasted nuts bringing out a subtle creaminess. For plant-based milk preferences, the bar stocks everything from oat and soy to macadamia milk.

We closed the afternoon with two standout desserts: a dark chocolate caramel multi-layered cake served with whipped cream, and a roasted macadamia spiced carrot cake topped with rich cream cheese frosting. Paired with a final glass of their house-crafted espresso coffee liqueur over ice, it provided a smooth, velvety finish to a complete farm experience. Before leaving, visitors can pick up live coffee plants complete with care guides, a tangible piece of the southernmost estate to bring home.
